Once upon a time…
In 1986 while working as a plumber for the gas company that leased gas water heaters I’d replace approximately three or four leaking water heaters daily, it was impossible to describe the water damage that had been done to people’s property. The damage spanned from wet-vac minimal to full ceiling, walls, and hardwood tear-outs; condos, apartments, main floor living areas, and finished basements - all affected. In these costly disasters, the property owner would always ask the same general question - “Is there anything or any way to avoid this disaster from happening again?” and the answer was NO!
Finding a solution became our mission, and a no-hassle water shut-off device on water heaters became a product that needed to be developed and brought to market. The first prototype was completed in late 1997, and performed the water flow shut off task exactly as planned.
In 2002, the first WAGS™ Valve was sold... and it is still going strong... with the new answer for property owners; "YES, WAGS WILL WATCH - so you don't have to!"
